It then introduced the 4D AI Fluency Framework: 1) Delegation, 2) Description, 3) Discernment, and 4) Diligence. Together, these were the foundational elements that guided this course. The course also addressed strategies for **partnering with AI**. This I found most useful as my approach to AI is to have conversations focused on collaboration rather than providing me a service. Finally, in true Anthropic fashion the course laid the basis for using AI ethically and safely by thinking critically about engagements and feedback from AI. ## Skills Collaborating with AI (automation, augmentation, agency) | Strategic delegation | Effective prompts | Critical output evaluation | Providing feedback | Capabilities and limitations | Ethical and responsible use | Detecting bias | Setting context and roles | Breaking complex tasks into steps | Verifying facts and accuracy | Transparent AI use | Understanding LLMs | Dialogue for iterative refinement | Applying domain expertise # Anthropic AI Fluency for educators **[Course Certificate](http://verify.skilljar.com/c/zu6cbifb8bxz) | [Training Website](https://anthropic.skilljar.com/ai-fluency-for-educators)** This course built on the 3 foundational ways of engaging with AI and the 4D AI Fluency Framework within the context of high-level course design and generating course materials with AI. As this was a practical focused course, emphasis was placed on the **description-discernment feedback loop** as well as conversing with AI to both teach it and build an effective partnership. Explored applications in education were the development of learning outcomes, organizing concepts, mapping a learning journey, and collaboratively constructing learning materials. An underlying theme to the course was to practice mindfully documenting while developing AI partnership for reflection and modeling to students. ## Skills Building teaching context with AI | Designing coherent learning experiences | Mapping learning journeys | Developing learning objectives | Creating instructional materials | Evaluating AI outputs with pedagogical expertise | Identifying student needs and potential misconceptions | Documenting AI collaboration | Modeling responsible AI use | Protecting student data and privacy | Iterative course design | Building accessible and inclusive learning materials --- Please see my [[CV#Professional training and continued learning]] for a full list of professional development activities.
