My interest in learning Python has gone back a few years. In 2019 I took [Python for Everybody](https://coursera.org/share/ebc342a744c8c5b4bb9fff309b155991) but not much stuck. I then got really busy with work and fast-forward in 2025 after attending some conferencing and become inspired again, I began to explore again learning Python. I started with the [[Python with Mosh]] tutorial on YouTube and then found myself drawn to training from large tech companies. So I selected Google because I have heard of their commitment to teaching through *Grow with Google*, I have confidence in their products, and I hoped to learn some things about the company culture.
This course was intense and took me a little while to complete. From this course I gained a solid foundation of Python basics, worked through many Python problems, learned working with PyCharm, and learned how to work with AI tools – Anthropic Claude and OpenAI ChatGPT — as a tutor. One of the cool things too during and after my learning was how I was able to apply simple Python functions when working with AI on other problems. It was definitely worth the effort and down the line I'll complete more training as I use the language.
