2020 – 2025
Director, Strategic Digital Learning Initiatives @ George Washington University
     Washington, DC

Spent 5 years taking on multiple challenges while joining only 3 months into COVID-19. Transformed a team of creative professionals for enhanced roles and greater impact, reworked learning operations of online course development for greater value and sustainability, drove the Adobe Creative Campus initiative from the academic side, created and delivered programming to enhance faculty digital fluency, and led the response and development of programming with university partners to generative Artificial Intelligence (genAI).

2020 – 2021
Learning Design Consultant @ Global Institute for Fiscal Transparency
     Washington, DC

Shortly after starting at GWU, an old colleague connected me with GIFT as they sought someone that could help them quickly build their first MOOC. Over 3 months I fully designed a 10 module course, planned and drafted the multimedia, and gave guidance on both costs and how to produce the course with web developers and creative professionals.

2018 – 2020
Manager, Finance Learning and Development @ Booz Allen Hamilton
     McLean, VA

Sought a shift after the IMF to gain some experience in the private sector and see how learning is done there. I managed the full finance curriculum, collaborated with multiple L&D teams, and was deep in learning operations daily. It was a lot and made me very effective operationally.

2014 – 2018
Projects Officer, Instructional Designer @ International Monetary Fund
     Washington, DC

Joined the IMF at the front-end of their effort to embrace digital learning and create a new program around Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) for government officials and the general public. I led the design and launch of 8 MOOCs, establishing content standards, transformed media with some amazing creative professionals, and create a new project management system. This experience significantly shaped me and defined 'mission' in the best way possible.

2013 – 2014
Instructional Designer @ Massachusetts Institute of Technology
     Cambridge, MA

Upon completing my doctoral defense, I joined MIT as part of an initiative to build a new university in Moscow, Russia — the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology. I contributed to the programmatic vision and curriculum design for new graduate engineering programs, built interdisciplinary engineering curriculum, and worked across teams to integrate technology, business principles, entrepreneurship, and systems design into a hands-on education.

2008 – 2013
Graduate Assistant & Instructor @ Texas Tech University
     Lubbock, TX

After returning to the US, I took some important time with family and decided that I wanted to build a career in education. So I started my graduate studies at TTU. Here I served as a graduate assistant synthesizing research findings and writing on educational technology applications for adult and child learners. Then later, spending 4.5 years serving as Instructor of Record for sections of an undergraduate course on integrating digital technologies in K-12 teaching.

2005 – 2007
   Instructor @ Shenyang Normal University
     Shenyang, Liaoning, China

Left rural China to join a university standing-up a new College of Business and leveraging foreign teachers from the US, Europe, and Australia. I served as Instructor of Record for first-year undergraduate business students, teaching conversational English and writing skills.

2004 – 2005
Instructor (Grades 10-12) @ Pingdingshan #1 Senior Middle School
     Pingdingshan, Henan, China

After spending the summer in the US, I returned to the same rural town I was previously at, but this time alone. Taught spoken English and American culture to high school students and rarely saw foreigners/老外. This was a full cultural immersion.

2003 – 2004
Instructor (Grades K-9) @ Wellent Bilingual School
     Pingdingshan, Henan, China

Left the US for a planned 1 year in rural China to teach basic conversational English skills to kindergarten through grade 9 students. Little did I know that this planned 1 year would turn into 4 years that set a direction for my career and family paths.
