# GWU Teaching Day 2025
While serving as Director of Strategic Digital Learning Initiatives at George Washington University (GWU) Libraries and Academic Innovation (LAI), one event that I would help with was [Teaching Day](https://library.gwu.edu/teaching-day). This event was/is organized by prior colleagues in the Faculty Development team of the Center for Teaching Excellence and focuses on bringing faculty and staff together to learn about innovations and approaches to teaching.
In support of Teaching Day 2025, I scheduled staff but worked with the organizers to create materials to support the event. The following program was the key material. Using my skills in [Adobe InDesign](https://www.adobe.com/products/indesign.html), I created a professionally styled digital program for the event.
## Teaching Day digital program
The digital program below was created in Adobe InDesign 2025 (v20) with feedback collected via [Frame.io](https://frame.io). To create the layout, I pulled from a mix of my own document layout ideas and examples I found online. I considered crafting this in alignment with prior digital programs, but really did not like the layouts. My subsequent document was an original work.

Primary and secondary colors were defined by the [official GW color palette](https://communications.gwu.edu/visual-identity/color-palette), as were the [selected fonts](https://communications.gwu.edu/visual-identity/typefaces) for the headers (GW Liberated) and the body (Avenir Next LT Pro).
The venue map on page 4 took extra work to clean up because there were many additional colored pixels that needed to be removed and certain rooms needed to be colorized to denote location of events. This work was done with Adobe Photoshop 2025 (v26).
On the day of the event, this was distributed via emailed link and QR code to all event participants. The LAI website administrator did not include the PDF on the website after the event because they did not like to maintain documents and links.
